Everything in the house have been turned past its sell-by date, pilot lights, hot water reservoir. Thermostat is set at 58-60 degrees contained by the house which is completely empty. Nobody have lived in the home, but still we are using 2.5 gallons of propane per light of day. It has be 32-42 degrees outside. I purely received a bill for $400 to refill our propane cistern even though nobody has lived surrounded by the house. Is this normal? We checked for a leach....which showed nothing. What is the typical propane usage contained by a unoccupied house (no hot showers, no fireplace, cooking, dryer) only the grill is being maintaned at 58-60 degree (58 degrees for 12 hours at dark, then switches to 60 point for 12 hours during the day. Our usage be the same for 2 months end year when we had a relations of three living in the house using adjectives appliances. Seems a little peculiar to me.
the merely real channel to check for leaks is to panama off and pressurize the system and see if it will hold pressure for a given length of time.
if you furnace requests cleaning or has developed a problem, it may be working smaller number efficiently.
or you may a moment ago have someone stealing propane from your cistern.
I guess it make sense.
with general public living there like mad of heat is created from lights,tv`s etc so the furnace doesn`t run as much even when set at alike temp as the empty house.only put your hand subsequent to a 60 watt light bulb when it is on and grain how much heat is coming stale of it, and that is simply one bulb.

maybe the neighbors are stealing it. nourishing up their propane tanks for their campers and boats
Answers: I think it's your furnace.You can shut it bad for a week and see if you continue to use propane.
