Over the weekend there be an ice storm here and unfortunatley a moderately decent size member fell ,and is now lifeless on the power line to my house! It have also pulled away the pole from my house which happens to be right subsequent to my front door. What I am really asking is ,since the elec co.( PECO) says that it is my responsibilty and not theirs can I obtain the damn thing sour myself without getting kill?Any suggestions on how I can do this? Thanks!
Answers: Absolutely NOT! Do not touch it, you can get yourself electocuted. Call a professional tree service that can do this for you. When you do gain it off, ring up the electric co back and hold them restore your lines. Or you can have the elec co come and drop the splash for you, from the pole, and you can remove it yourself. They will do that. Then it will have to be hooked up again.
I sympathize beside you, we had that same damn rime storm, and were out of power for six days. Didn't lose any lines to our house, but lots of trees down contained by the neighborhood. We had a huge oak branch thru our hindmost porch roof and lost a couple of trees. Scary, I hate rime storms.
call an electrician.
