Trane Central Heating and Air Conditioning Question? I have a full-size Trane Heat Pump in my home. My put...
I have a full-size Trane Heat Pump in my home. My put somebody through the mill is this, The thermostat is placed on the wall in the hall directly under the heavens intake and the filter is located above in the ceiling. It seem like this is the coldest and draftiest place contained by the home because it is where the intake is drawing surrounded by the air. Wouldn't the system do a better post if I relocated the thermostat to a place where the heavens temperature is more constant?
Thanks!
Answers: This is from a Honeywell Installation instruction manual....
Do not install the thermostat where it can be artificial by:
-Drafts or dead spots down doors and in corners.
-Hot or Cold nouns from ducts.
-Near a cold air return.
-Radiant warmth from sun or appliances.
-Concealed pipes and chimneys.
-Unheated (uncooled) areas such as an outside wall behind the thermostat.
So I would move it away from the bridle path of returning air, you are right.
No, explicitly the standard place to put it to get the most consistent reading.
