Why hasn't this be replaced with plastic?
P.S. I detest to sound close to a jerk, but if your answer is some instability of "I don't know", then don't squander my time, because I'm not really interested in getting an email dictum someone's answered this, logging on, etc., only to find another "I don't know" non-answer.
Plastic will retain the odor of the consume and stain more. Example plastic tupperware with sauce stains and retains odor of the food. Same belief even if its a different type of plastic density.
Plastic has a pourous surface allowing mold, mildew and germs to hide and thrive.
Porta-potties are plastic. Seats are plastic. Porta-potties are stopgap and disposable.

Answers: Porcelain (Glazed Pottery) is cheap and the surface that lavish needs to move though must be super slick and stay that instrument. Plastic an oil base product for the most part starts evaporating once made. That and considering the cruel chemical environment, plastic would break down on the surface. Once that starts, quality go out the window. Porcelain can closing virtually a 100 years is it is cleaned regularly. Porcelain is cheap, its the design (manufacture name) (water flow) that cost.
