Ok, I am reasking and rephrasing. My toilet runs over and over..I thought it was the flapper so I replaced it and it still runs every couple of minutes, the tie up length is fine. So I noticed if I shut the hose down valve stale it quits running. If it was the flapper it would still overflow through right?
what this problem sounds like is any your fill tap or the korky flapper you installed could be defective, is there any wet leakage beneath the tank to hand the bowl? did you remove the round ring on the flapper, if you have the peg style flapper fit? this should ensure a flat fit to the flush tap, or you could have a impossible fill spigot that's the piece connected to the water supply. this cog is probley clog with Debri preventing the dampen to stop. since you replaced the flapper and it is installed correctly. good luck

It's been my experience that possibly you should do the entire job when working on the toilet. Your problem may be a malfunctioning or worn-out float. There is a product by Fluidmaster that I generally use, Easy to install and much more modernized than those of years gone by.

Answers:    It's the seal underneath the flapper. If sea wasn't going somewhere, and the intake valve never shut stale, water would overflow out of the container. So if the flapper is good there's lone one other place water can progress other than on the floor, and that's through the trademark under the flapper. The vertebrae tank have to be removed to replace it. EDIT: Dan, the fact that the container water rank does not drop was not posted until after I submitted my answer, so at the time I did not own that information. When she said "it runs every couple of minutes" I took it for granted that was stirring because the water rank was dropping. However, base on the additional information, I agree near your diagnosis. To the best of my knowledge, if the marine valve is turning on, even if it is cause by a float which is set too high, after water is any going down the tube, leaking olden the flapper valve, the trademark underneath, or it's leaking on the floor from the container mounting bolts.
