I just replaced the antiquated style ballcock float with a newer style float where on earth the float is attached directly to the rod. Now, every 8-10 minutes the toilet runs for 5 seconds or so next is fine for another 8-10 minutes before it runs again for 5 second and so on..
Does anyone know why this would happen and how to fix it?
Thanks!
Answers: you are leak water ancient the tank stop. (flapper) check for refuse or mineral build up around the flapper seat. use a sponge to verbs it thoroughly or replace the flapper.
I agree that the flapper is leaking. To question paper this, flush the toilet and while it is refilling (after the flapper drops) pour contained by a couple cups of coffee (liquid only, no grounds) and see the water surrounded by the bowl. If it starts changing colors, the flapper is allowing dampen to drain from the tank.
