I'm all freaked out presently. Management of my apt building is going to check it out and I opened up the window. If I open up the window, does that eliminate carbon monoxide. Basically, how do you take rid of it? I won't be here during the day and will return this evening. Can I expect it to be gone since I own the windows amenable? The stove is off. The steam is controlled by the building and isn't on. My landlord be thinking that the alarm went rotten b/c the battery requests to be replaced (although he hasn't been inside my place on the other hand to check it out). I don't know about that one. Thanks everyone for your back!!
Answers:    Your boiler or something that uses gas might be leaking, it may be a tiny seep that you wont be able to find.

When you return with in, put your house into its 'normal' state and see if it go off again. If it does after call your building proprietor and they should get the required plumber etc. surrounded by to fix it.

If that is not their responsibility next you will need to seize a plumber in to isolate the dribble. It may have be a false alarm or that the batteries surrounded by the monoxide detector need changed.
be outstandingly careful!. carbon monoxide detectors don't progress off for nought! the detector would not have gone bad if there be a gas leak, instinctive gas does not give sour carbon monoxide until it is burning.
if you had appliances on when it go off. own them checked out imediately DO NOT WAIT TO SEE IF IT GOES OFF AGAIN. you may not be alive too find out . please have adjectives your appliances checked. I can not stress how important this is carbon monoxide KILLS. don't have it in mind too frighten you but it could be nothing. better secure than sorry.
