I found very thin and going on for 6mm long whitish clear/greyish worms in my kitchen under the dish draining tray on the sink. They have a black dot on each end and be wriggling. There were lots of them wriggling in the river. What are they and how did they get there? They be not anywhere else but there.
Answers: ANNA is quite right they are indeed maggots. Probability is a small piece of meat get stuck somewhere out of sight. Flies can find it from miles away. they eat, breed, lay eggs, and you bring back maggots looking for more food. It happens to the best of 'em sometime.
I believe you will find that these worms are maggots. They are the larvae of house flies. Be sure adjectives counter tops are * and span as flies will be around hence ' maggots '. Under drain boards is a perfect dark .not detrimental spot. Be sure your sponge or cleaning cloth is clean, clean. verbs! If you have ever watched the "cleaning ladies" on T.V. or any sanitation shows, you see that a dirty cloth can simply spread germs etc when the counter SEEMS verbs. I use one of my last dishes in my pile that will hold a bit of bleach and rinse my cloth surrounded by it regularly. Washing your counters down with a bleach solution helps immensely. Many relatives use rubbing alcohol for wiping counters but don't mix anything with bleach ...cause caustic fumes. Even if you use plastic bags within your garbage pail it should hold same treatment..warm weather is the worst also. Sonia,
I'd capture some of them and put them contained by a bottle somewhere and take them to my county extension agent. Then I would spray around where they come from.
