its an old excess pipe - had some burs on the edges ive cleaned them up (it help a little) - still leaks from bottom member of PVC - i've used plumbers tape - the wall pipe is inserted purely a little into the idle away pipe then tightened -
should i buy modern pvc pipe, a washer anything to stop the leak???
Answers: buy adjectives new parts--the apparatus can't be more than 10-15 bucks--and simply replace everything...you either enjoy a hairline crack somewhere or a broken washer, but it's simply easier to replace everything. If you have a plumber do the errand, it'll be a few hundred bucks, do it yourself, maybe twenty, better however, get a handyman friend to do the work, one who know what he (or she) is doing. And be sure to watch them label the repair, then when it happen again (like in ten years when you own your own property, maybe) you'll know how to do it yourself, it isn't adjectives that hard....appropriate luck!
