I saw some other answers. I figure the nouns valve requests replacing, ok no problem, but exactly how much pressure are we talking just about here? what is the correct procedure to shut this thing down to replace the tap?
Same item happened to me, but near an oil boiler. Shut sour power to water electric fire.
Find the drain valve on bottom of section, attach hose if it has a fitting. If you enjoy an open sump pump contained by you basement, freshly drain into there, or you can compress buckets and keep empty them.
Use a pipe wrench to take of pressure nouns valve.
Take the spigot to a good hardware store, or plumbing supply place so they can clash it.
Put teflon tape on threads of contemporary valve (thats adjectives i used, no leaks) and install

First if you follow the correct procedure the pressure is no problem.

Answers: 1. Turn off the space heater. If the heater is electric, turn bad the power. If it's gas, turn the thermostat all the channel down. If the spout is side-mounted, water may come out of the hole when you verbs out the old spigot. You can drain the heater to below the rank of the valve by putting a hose on the boiler drain and running it to the outside. This may not work if scale have built up inside the heater it can glibly plug the drain.
4. Install the new spout. Put joint compound (which plumbers send for "pipe dope") or Teflon tape on the threads of the spanking new valve. Push the threaded cessation of the valve into the hole and turn it clockwise to screw it surrounded by. If you do this quickly, you won't spill more than a partially cup of water. The marine isn't under pressure, but enjoy a rag close by to plug the hole within case of an emergency.
