Ok so I'm not sure what is wrong with it, it just suddenly wouldn't quit making that running racket. The water level doesn't seem to be to appear to be getting higher or lower or anything. I took the back past its sell-by date and theres this big blue thing that looks like a big oval next to a long metal piece, when I take my finger and pull it up for a time the water noise stops but when I permit it go it keeps making the hubbub. No idea what piece that is, or what could be wrong next to it, or even if thats the problem? Anyone have any idea as what piece to be precise or what could be wrong with it?
Ur height control is worned and should be replaced. Ur flopper is also should be replaced. This set is sold separately and it's not expensive at all. Flopper and level control stopcock should be in the neighborhood of $15. Sounds like your ballcock isn't shutting the river flow off when the tank is full adequate. They are easy enough to replace, but if you hold never done it, it's best to have someone do it for you or call a plumber.
At the bottom of the tank is a rubber (actually silicon) "stopper" that seal off the flow of water from the container to the toilet bowl. See if there is an obstruction (on mine, the little secure that lifts the stopper sometimes comes loose and gets underneath the stopper; if yes, reattach it). You may need to replace the stopper. Take a picture of it on your cell phone and show it to someone at the hardware store. It's pretty easy to replace it, and this is a must-have life span skill. A running toilet can drive you crazy, run up your water bill, deplete an important Earth resource, front to global warming, doom your grandchildren. So, go and get it fixed pretty soon. Hi Kasey,
A Tank Rebuild Kit will take care of the problem well found at most hardware stores. They are usually cheap and the instructions well detailed. If you are on a septic system, might be a good perception to cut the water supply off at the wall to prevent nourishing your septic tank, till you get it fixed. :)
Answers:    it is the ball cock if in attendance is a screw on top of the end that go to the valve(opposite the oval thing) turn it clockwise a few turns till it shuts off by itself or bend the metal rod down ( hold the rod so it doesn't break the valve)
explicitly your ballcock just take the little rod surrounded by both hands and bend it down slightly so that the ball go barely into the water and I bet the running stops pocket the little metal rod and bend it down just a little bit so that the big oval is closer to the wet. this will stop it from running.
