Its an older house. Everytime we use the tresses dryer 1600- 1880watt , the breaker trips. Is it safe to cash the breaker to 20AMP?
Answers:    Even if it is an older house something doesnt nouns right. Old house usually had 12 awg line to everything. Check the size of the wire. If it is 14 awg you are prohibited to use a 20 amp breaker. You probably wont burn your house down if you do but it is better to be safe.

This is why we are required to own a 20 amp circuit to the bathroom and not on any other circuit.

If the wire is 12 awg copper next by all finances feel free to tuning it to 20 amp.

The problem with alot of elder homes is that they have particularly few circuits feeding the together house and many rooms sharing respectively one.

14 awg wire is rate for 20 amps but code does not allow anything bigger then 15 amp breaker on it except for infallible motor applications.
Only if you want to burn your house up. A 15 amp circuit breaker is designed to handle more or less 1500 watts max. So is the wire, usually 14 quantify. A 20 amp circuit breaker requires 12 gauge flex. Your best bet is to buy a weaker hair dryer. Something within the 1250 to 1500 watt category.
