The brace on my wooden chairs keep breaking? I have a really antiquated and beautiful kitchen table to be exact...

I have a really antiquated and beautiful kitchen table to be exact almost 30 years old. The brace between the 4 legs on a couple of the chairs preserve popping out. I tried using carpenters glue but they preserve breaking. Is there anything else I can try?
Woodburner--5inch flue to 8inch clay liner.?

gorilla glue. but if you used carpenters gum something is very wrong as the paste is stronger than wood.
