Storage heaters? Could anyone tell me roughly how heaps units of electricity a storage...
Could anyone tell me roughly how heaps units of electricity a storage boiler uses to heat up over hours of darkness? I am currently using a convector heater for my lodger's bedroom. It uses roughly 2 unit of electricity per hour, but if she is in during the time - that is expensive. I enjoy economy 7 & would resembling to know roughly how many unit it would take to warmness a storage heater, so i can work out if it really would be cheaper. I don't grasp Kw etc, I just count the unit you see on the meter & like come up on the bill. Any rough estimates greatly appreciated.
Answers: I component cost 10p so your convector is using 20p per hour.
Electricity by its nature is expensive. I would suggest grease or gas central heat.
It costs approx lb5000 to have gas central heating installed and increases the expediency of your home by 7%
Further note..........Economy heat in a house REDUCES it's helpfulness compared to one without it.
The justification is that it has to be uninstalled to put surrounded by proper central heat.
I always have to charge extra to uninstall economy 7 heat.before installing radiators.
