I was steaming pecans surrounded by my huge spaghetti pot---an experiment to see if they'd be easier to shell.Anyway,at 15 minutes I removed them from the heat,and set the intact pot in the sink.When I tried to elevate the lid,I found it stuck TIGHT---it would NOT come off! So-I thought,ably run cold water on it.BAD MISTAKE! It made a strange racket,then adjectives of a sudden it popped very loud---I thought it exploded,but it be the opposite! The sides of the pot cave in,within several different places,badly! I can't believe it! It is a nice,chunky pot! I've never steamed before that I could not pull the lid,and I've sure never had a pot IMPLODE!!! What HAPPENED??? And does anyone by accidental know how I can make the sides of the pot jump back to run of the mill? I tried pressing the caved-in areas,but they didn't EVEN budge---like I said,it is a rather gluey pot. Thanks in credit for your help near this-Jus
Answers:    I take it you has-been physics in soaring school? Just kid. When you heated the pot, the steam and air inside it expanded. As it cooled contained by the sink, the steam and air contracted, forming a vacuum. When you run cold water on it, you increase the vacuum to a large enough stratum to implode the pot. Don't do that with the contemporary one.
your pot was hermetically sealed too tightly.when you left the lid on at cooling the atmosphere inside the pot become less hence cause a vacumm inside.Same as when you fill a plastic bottle next to hot water dump it trademark it.It collapses.get a unknown pot.
