Last night my husband plugged contained by our toaster, and there be a big spark and a poping sound. We unplugged it, and notice some black on the outside of the outlet and on plug itself for the toaster. What happened? Would it be protected to use that outlet again? What about the toaster..can we use that again? Best answer get 10 points...
Answers: Have the receptacle and toaster looked at by an electrician. Big sparks can cause big house fires. The other answers selection from plain wrong to dangerous. Never transport electrical advise from untrained and unqualified associates. And yahoo is full of them.
there is a short surrounded by either the toaster or the outlet. if you own a voltage tester, you could test the outlet. insure that if the circuit breaker/fuse poped that it is any reset or replaced. you could test the toaster if you hold a multitester for a short.
