The lever is raised to the top of the river level, so it should stop but it doesn't.

When I turn the hose off and after back on, it stops.
Answers:    christopher pretty much hit the pin on the head. here's the details of the article. i don't know if you've got the european design (that doesn't use the orb on the end of a stick) or the conventional design (that does use the bubble on the end of a stick). near either one, trade name sure the water rank in the container is below the top of the over flow tube, that's the tube coming up from the center of the tank that the flapper at the bottom of the container attaches to. if the water stratum is at the top of the over flow tube then you inevitability to adust the level surrounded by the tank. turn the screw resting on the rod that attaches to the float.

if the water height is already below the top of the over flow tube don't mess with the container level adjustment. fussily pull the tube that runs from the swarm valve to the over flow tube out of the over flow tube (it may be held within place with a clamp, so put it rear legs in the clamp when you're done). if within is water coming out of the tube and the container is full then the seal in your flood valve are fruitless and it needs to be replaced.

if the cistern level is below the top of the over flow tube, and nearby is no water coming out of the tube when the reservoir is full, then your flapper is worn, or in that is something on the flapper seat stopping the flapper from spaces propperly. wipe off the flapper and flapper form with a scarf or paper towel and see if that help, if not the flapper desires to be replaced. most of the time the flapper looks fine, it's just ancient and losing it's flexability.

not everyone has the innate capability to repair plumbing, if you're not sure you can make the adjustment call a plumber or service technician.
anyone ever enlighten you that you look like mr t's nephew???
