When the contractor came on Friday, he confirmed we have a leak surrounded by our pipes right outside the house. He also stated we had polybutylene pipes from the meter to the house (not inside). He replaced a two foot slice of the pipe and resealed the pipes inside the house since the seal have broken causing leaching inside as well. He said the undamaged pipe needed to be replaced within the subsequent year. My husband and I are wondering if we should get it done very soon or just continue for the next percolate and then attain the whole point replaced, since we just have it repaired Friday.
Answers:    Personally, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you can afford to fix it now, do so at once. Why wait until the pipe starts leak again and possibly doing a lot of blight? Especially since it's Murphy's Law that if things are going to break, it will be at the most inconvenient time and do LOTS of damage.
Since u get the line fixed friday and 300-400 is probably what u spent. It's a judgement beckon. Get some estimates for the best price. U have time to find a plumber to do the position. It's a peace of mind thing. U can dally or just do it. It's ur telephone.
