My home is about 100 years out-of-date, and I think the furnace be installed in 2002. This year, nearby is a musty, dusty odor when the heat go on. Also, my husband's asthma has be acting up ever since around the time we started using the heat. Should we hold them cleaned, or will we be wasting our money? Is there a approach to visibly tell if we inevitability it without trusting a company?
Answers: Change the filter first. The single thing you may want to hold cleaned is the furnace itself. They usually stink the first couple of times they come on. Oh! change the filter every month
Well one item you can do is look inside your ducts and see if there is any dust ball. I am not sure if there is any other style.
