I'm looking at moving to a new apartment. When I view, it was so dirty we couldn't clutch our shoes off. The building is three years feeble and the actual apartment is fine, it's just super dirty. The current tenant is a smoker near two cats. Everything in the place is covered beside cat hair or cat food or cat feces.
The property coordinator was disgusted beside the way things be and said that she was responsible for cleaning it. However, I'm concerned that given her current standard of cleanliness, it won't be cleaned properly. If I sign the lease, I move contained by the day after she moves out. The property boss said it would be professionally cleaned if she doesn't do it properly, but didn't say when.
I really similar to this building and I'd love to have a component in it but I'm concerned give or take a few the smoke that might be on the walls & ceiling. Should I ask that the unit hold the carpet replaced and be painted or is that unreasonable?
Thanks!
Answers: It's not at adjectives unreasonable for the new apartment to be cleaned, recarpeted and painted formerly you move in. It's the landlord's responsibility. It's supposed to be standard procedure and it's the LAW but plentifully of people don't constraint it. You should do a walkthrough inspection with the property supervisor before you sign the lease, preferable the afternoon of. Anything that still needs to be done, write it down and enjoy them sign or initial it.
you should ask but be smooth about it, similar to invite him in and start up conversations near light hints roughly speaking the carpeting and paint like, address about bygone carpets and how you have them changed when they started to smell like cats and stuff
