I have no notion what to do..last dark my whole living room runner was drenched since the wet heater be leaking. A friend come over to turn the water rotten. Today I'm calling different water space heater plumbers andthey are all unfolding me over the phone I need to replace it!
Are they trying to rip me bad?
What should I do in the meantime? not unambiguous any water faucets or flush the toilet?
Thank you so much for helping me... : (
what a vile weekend!
No, they aren't trying to rip you rotten unless they tell you that you want to buy the water heating system from them.
We had one die on us that be about 4 years hoary and it flooded my kitchen, den and part our upstairs hallway right around the Christmas holidays.
We had to replace it, but we go and bought it ourselves and had someone come and install it.
That save us about $300 bucks and we get a better brand than the one we had originally.
Just buy one from a local Home Depot or something and bring it home and craft the calls to see how much it's going to cost to own them just install it.
Did the bleed stop when he turned it off or did it verbs. If it stopped, It could be a leak within the pipes. If it is in the reservoir, it would continue to bleed until the tank be empty or below the horizontal of the leak.
If the discharge is in the pipes on the top of the furnace, and leaking down into the insulation of the reservoir, soaking it, until it is coming out in the bottom of the kiln and appearing as if the tank is leak. Turn the water on and take a look at around the connections at the top of the heater and see if you see a drip starting. It would be easier to enjoy the connections redone than hold the heater replaced.
Hope it go well for you
Answers: Yes it's time for a replacement-W/H heaters can go from 5yr's up to 15yrs-It merely depends on the hardness of your marine, water pressure etc. Best of luck
some times it may not be the reservoir itself leaking,it could be the plastic drain cock or the nouns valve leak.BUT if it is the tank, it will stipulation to be replaced! Normally you should get at lowest possible 10 to 15 years out of one UNLESS you water pressure is TOO HIGH. High hose pressure will raise havoc on every element of plumbing in your house ( not drains) When you hold plumber come out, ask him/her to check water pressure, it should be lower than 75 psi
