Hi,
My pilot light go out and when I relit it I noticed that a second pilot restrained formed under the indisputable pilot light. It looks close to the connection is leak and then its only just catching of fire with the tangible pilot light. My question is that there seem to be a hole in the fitting and thats where on earth the gas is leaking. I could be wrong but what is that hole for? Also should I be seriously concerned? The second flame doesnt muted up all the time.
Thanks

Answers: turn t-stat to pilot, unscrew 3 connections= thermocoupling, pilot tube, main burner flash... remove burner assy. look where seep is ( 2nd flame) it is probably a compression nut that needs to be fixed, loosen nut, apply some pipe thread compound to ferrel, retighten nut, reinstall burner assy, relight pilot flame. mix juice dishwasing soap ( dawn, cheeriness, etc) with water/ 50/50 and put on chief burner and pilot tube connections to t-stat to check for leaks. 15 minute brief
turn it off the other pilot night light is a leak telephone call a plumber
