Rotten sulfur smell coming from toilet.? If I run water surrounded by the sink in our underground room...
If I run water surrounded by the sink in our underground room for a few minutes the upstairs bathroom will eventually begin to smell similar to sulfur/rotten eggs. The water within the toilet will disappear before the the smell appears and the smell seem to be coming from out of the toilet. It will eventually go away roughly 20-30 minutes later. The house is roughly speaking 90 years old, but the sink and plumbing contained by the basement is strange in yesteryear year. We also have an shortened bathroom in the subterranean vault, which is directly below the upstairs bathroom. Everything is ready to be hooked up, but isn't. Someone suggested that since the subterranean vault toilet isn't hooked up that is cause the problem. Any ideas?
Answers: i would suggest you pine sol down the drains,
and check your vent pipe, your vent pipe transport smells up and out of the house, this could be blocked
or your main mite be running slow
explanation this smell......
maybe return with a plumber to run a snake dow nthe main .afterwards see if it still smells.
Hum, Sounds like something is pulling the marine out of the trap in the toilet. Check that out
