My husband and I want to put a new porch on our house this summer. It is adjectives under roof but the weather is still fit of blowing in. The porch floor is the roof of our garage, so we want something that will semi accomplishment as a roof as well and hang on to the weather out. We want vinyl railing and posts, but we wanted plain wood look floor, but we're not sure that will do the waterproofing resembling we want it to. Any suggestions, in low - moderate price scale? Our porch is 12x30.
Answers: to waterproof the roof of the garage, you'll hold to lay a rubber membrane down first. Then you'll have to build up lying on that with the proper structural supports for the deck that you want.
First, check to assure you can justifiably install a roof over the garage roof, and get a receipt if you have to (I hold experience with not getting a warranty for something that will be attached to the house). Second, depending on what the garage roof is made of, you can buy rubber roofing materials in rolls. Seal the overlap joint (store will tell you what to use), and this should impermeable the garage roof, thus your floor. But then you hold to put something over the rubber, too, so whatever you do if you install something similar to that, make sure adjectives holes into the garage roof are sealed near silicone caulk or tar type sealant.
All that does not answer your quiz. You say it is already adjectives under roof, but you want waterproofing, but still install vinyl railing and posts. Sounds to me similar to you are really in the marketplace for a sunroom. Wainscoting then window that will open for fresh nouns, all the track to the existing roof. If that were done, you would not hold to waterproof the garage roof, since you would enjoy an exclosed system.
