I own a 14x66 Tidwell mobile home with destabilized metal skirting, and was wondering of anybody can administer me some tips for straightening it out. I just bought this house and it be this way. animals (cats) hold been going underneath. how do I straighten the panel, and what's the best paint to use to change colors? lol
Answers: Well, straightening out metal panel can be a real urge, and near impossible to gain perfectly flat.
You might try hammering them flat on a complex flat surface. I assume there is some sort of guide to the tin, if so, you may have to take home a 'form' to work off of.
As to paint, any enamel, or exterior paint will do the post nicely, and youve get your pick of colors to choose from. I would use a little primer first on the rusty spots, and verbs them before drawing (they tend to get 'chalky' over time).
Post or email a photo to me, and probably I can offer some more oblige.
Have Fun
I spent several years forming and installing metal of all shapes and sizes on mobile homes, contained by my younger years, and I can't imagine trying to straighten out metal skirting. If this is a business of a couple of panels surrounded by some area that's allowing animals to bring back underneath, were I you, I'd look around for a mobile home salvage patio, ( we have two of them inside 25 miles of our home), and I'd go see it they have something that would come close enough to the model you have that might work. There are no unadulterated tips or tricks to straightening metal panels, a short time ago hammering and more hammering. As for paint, just use a upright grade of spray paint.
