My foundation on my home shifted before we purchased it. the foundation repairs be done but the bricks have sperated contained by spots. can bricks be repaired in a secure area one and only? or does the whole wall own to be repaired. Whats the usuall cost for brickwork? Could the bricks from a brick home be completely removed and sided or would that be a rediculous hassle?
Answers: Depending on the damage, it is possible to point up the mortar, replace or repair a few broken bricks, replace a hulking section of bricks, replace a unharmed wall of bricks, or remove the bricks and use a different outside covering. It really depends on the amount of damage and what you are of a mind to live with or can afford to do.
Just something like any repair will tend to show a bit because very few masons can meeting the mortar color exactly. Also any new bricks will tend to look a bit different from the existing bricks.
The best entity to do is talk near a mason and see what your practical options are.
I a short time ago recently have a brick retaining wall jacked and leveled. The contractor also ground out the cracked motar and put in up to date. It looks pretty good but the mortar is a slightly different color. I expect within time as the new mortar ages, it will blend better.
