I installed an icemaker on my refrigerator. How do I test to see if the electrical connections are working?
Answers: Just move the control arm inside the freezer to the "create ice" position. It should cycle the icemaker even with no rime being made and it will be graceful to hear. You will also be able to hear dampen flow coming into the ice-maker tray.
If you just installed it, it will whip several hours for the unit to cool ample to begin working. Be sure the lever is down or it will not work. Also, be sure the hose is turned on. To check the actual electrical connections there are contact points beneath the cover on the front end of the rime maker on most unit. There are usually instructions to verify or check connections on the inside of the cover, or the instructions that came next to the unit will bestow you the details of the contact points. To check the connections using a multimeter, check for voltage using the power and ground (or common)terminals, and timer and ground. If you have power to these terminal then the power is connected properly.
