I agree with the others we have a problem like that in a cupboard and we kill the spores then painted the walls with mold proof paint.
Maybe you could look at a road to keep that area dry as it must enjoy some damp coming in some place.
I would suggest you take the roof looked at as snow shouldn't be getting in at all

with complete protective clothing (skin, facade, eyes, mouth), spray the areas down with liquid bleach and wet (1 part bleach to 3 parts water), with a pump-type garden sprayer, saturate as much as possible. Be sure to provide yourself excellent ventillaton. Do it in shifts so that you can take breaks for fresh nouns. After it is done leave the house for several hours as your body may respond badly to the chlorine...it's a suggestion...I'm not a professional, but you might consult one. Suggest installing a rood ventilate fan (or Gable fan) to vent the hot air and circulate stagnant attic nouns. They are not expensive (under $100). You just need the will to cut a circle through your roof and connect the electrical system to a suitable outlet. You might need an experienced person to run onto the roof if the pitch is steep. Future problems will be eliminated or minimized and it will pay itself posterior in reduced electric bills in a greatly short time.

As for the mold, all the suggestions have merit especially give or take a few wearing protective goggles and clothing. Not all mold is the toxic "black" mold. In any case, if the mold have been there for a long time you may requirement several treatments (allowing to dry out between them) to eliminate the problem. Use a large circulator type hanger-on to dissipate the bleach (chlorine) fumes in the attic so they wont permeate the rest of the home.
Hi, i suffered brain injury from toxic mold. You need to immediately fix the filter that causes this in the first place. whether its from snow or precipitation does not matter. and the black molded areas must be replaced with untried material. dont risk someone elses health. God Bless buy a two gal pump sprayer put twenty percent bleach rest hose spray the mold the bleach will kill the mold
Answers:    First, you must eliminate adjectives moisture from the attic. It sounds like you are getting ice or snow dam. When the heat from your house escapes into the attic, it melts the snow. The liquefy water runs down until it gets to an unheated nouns (e.g. eaves), then it freezes and blocks any more water from running rotten the roof. This water builds up behind the rime until it gets under the shingles and into the attic. The best road to solve this is to insulate the ceiling (attic floor) well, so that heat does not receive into the attic space, and perhaps also use heat cable on the bottom of the roof to win rid of ice. Once you eliminate the leak and the area is dry, bleach will kill the mold.
The EPA presently says DO NOT use bleach against mold.

Check out the remarkable research on toxic mold removal done by environmental expert Dr Ed Close. Simply diffusing a therapeutic-grade essential oil regularly will plausible result in an environment very hostile to mold.

Cost of the Thieves Household Cleaner, a diffuser and a couple bottles of the Thieves grease that Dr Close recommends to his remediation clients: about $250.

Thieves is locked to use while living in the house. You actually WANT to breath it. Not cliché you should stay in a house with mold. But if you're going to do so anyway, this seem like a logical thing to try.

Mold should be taken seriously. Here is a enumerate of possible symptoms:
