Question in the order of hole locked doors? I lock my door whenever i leave my room and be sad...

I lock my door whenever i leave my room and be sad to find out that my brother ( who steals deeply of my stuff ) can open the door extremely efficiently with lately a credit card, i was wondering if anyone know how to prevent him from being competent to open the door.

All answers are appreciated
Answers:    If the door open into the room, glue and fastener a vertical strip of 1 inch quarter round wood on the latch side of the door jamb. If the door doesn't close firmly against the jamb when it's latched, then breed sure when you're installing the quarter round that you push the wood strip firmly against the edge of the door as it's anyone installed. This will eliminate any space between the door and the frame where a card could be inserted.
If the door open outwards away from the room, you can attach a small shield plate (about 8-12 inches high) on the face of the door which will overlap the latch plate (the metal subdivision which is screwed into the door frame). This will also prevent a card from being pushed into the crack. Cost surrounded by either luggage is less than 10.00 and you don't call for any special tools or locks.
Install a dead-bolt lock and he won't be able to jimmy it amenable
