I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator 3 years ago. The door on our refrigerator has developed some sort of problem to where on earth it will not close easily or stay closed. If we plain the freezer door and shut it the refrigerator door comes open. I come home from work yesterday evening to discover that the door had sit open for 10 hours and have to throw all of the food away inside. What are some reason that the gasket on the door can become decompressed or be worn out? My husband recently cleaned the refrigerator and I swear it have never closed well since he cleaned it. We enjoy a repairman coming to look at it but it will not be covered if the owner intentionally or unintentionally destabilized it. Would using a cleaning agent on the gasket do this? Also my ice inventor only produces hollow rime cubes. What could be the reason for this?
Answers:    you can adjust the amount of sea that goes into the rime maker. pop the plastic cover past its sell-by date the front and turn the screw that has the + and - symbols. turn it to the + for more hose down. i would not turn it more than one full turn. then skulk til it dumps the ice up to that time turning it again. you dont want to much water.
it sounds resembling the hindges on the fridge door ar out of allignment and the door is not matching up right.
no the gasket should be fine, but i would check the appealing draw of the gasket, sounds like a door misalignment, or near is not a place for the air to escape when you close the door, some times near so air tight its intricate for the door to stay closed,
Mine is just divergent, its hard to begin, so i drilled a 1/8 th inch hole thru the cabnit,
