I have a York system, almost 8 years old. The coil freezes. I have a home warranty that sent about 4 different companies and 8 different techs, adjectives of whom said it was a freon leak- but some said freon be full. Could it be something else? What can I check myself? Should I just replace it, or enjoy it fixed on my own? If I need to look into fixing it, what should I enjoy them check, and how do I know they aren't fleecing me for return visits and more money, as olden times companies seemed to do? Thanks.
Answers: Coils freeze-up is one of two problems. Low freon or dirty coils.
Spray the coils next to Mean Green (Generously), wait ten to fifteen minutes after spray off beside hot water.
If it still freezes after it is low freon. Only a tech can fix that.
