Hello, I recently adjectives an older grill but the exotic propane tanks will not fit into the nouns. I need a manly plug of some sort, but the tank have a female plug. What can I do? The general public are Home Depot had no opinion what I was chitchat about.
Answers: It sounds as if you get hold of an old style cistern that is no longer approved for use. The modern propane tanks own threads on the outside of the nozzle and on the inside of the nozzle so that it will take any type of fitting. Male or Female.
The threads on a grill and propane tank are reverse threads. You own to screw them just the disparate of all other things within the world with threads. The direction that would usually be tightening is removing on a propane tank, and the direction that would as a rule be removing is tightening on a propane tank. So gross sure you are turning them the right direction.
If all else fail, you can unscrew the regulator and hose from the burner controls and buy a new modern one at most stores that convey grill parts. They only run almost $10.
If you have one of the snap within connections like an nouns hose uses, instead of the screw in connections, you will necessitate to replace both connections as there are oodles different manufacturers, and they create them slightly different so you have to use their brand of parts.
mostly there is two ways to hook up the grill to a propane container. Check to see if the male stripe on your grill is backwards threaded. The other thing you can do is turn to your home improvement store and carry a new hose that have the right connection. The spanking new lines have a big plastic connector that go on the outside of the propane nozell, and the old tank were connected from the inside of the nozell. Another entity you need to check is the reservoir itself. Look at the shut off on the top of it. If it is triangle shaped next you have a code cistern, but if it is star shaped, you do not have an OPD cistern and can not refill it any opening.
