Wring them bad, studs are only close to 3/16. They're like giant T nail, even if they just spin the over sized holes surrounded by the toilet bowl allow you plenty of room to deal next to them. The gasket is only made of bee's wax, the better ones hold a plastic piece which only serves to prevent the wax from extruding out too much. Has nought to do with adhesion.
