Problems next to a dented boiler ? I moved into a brand newly refurbished house only just over 3...

I moved into a brand newly refurbished house only just over 3 years ago, and the boiler has be tempermental for the past 2.
It keep cutting out, especially when surrounded by the shower, giving freezing water at the most inconvenient times, so I commonly thump the inner cover to get it to work.
The problem is, near is now an almighty dent contained by the front, and the lining have broken away, and covers some of the gas jets, so I'm getting worried.
The innkeeper has never sent anyone to look at it, despite the requirements of documents, saying it needed to break down first as it be an intermittent fault, but I don't know what to do very soon.
Is it safe for me to turn stale the gas, and bend the cover back, should I beckon a gas man, or should I tell my innkeeper I've knocked seven bells out of the boiler and would close to him to fix it?
Turn it off as you risk CO poisoning. Tell your innkeeper that if he doesn't get some-one to fix it you will report him to the Health and Safety Executive for failing to ensure gas safekeeping by getting his gas appliances checked once a year. You can also investigate the legality of witholding rent until it is fixed.

If you can bend the cover posterior so it is not noticeable, I would do that. An intermittent reprimand is a break down of sorts, so if he says it is doing it, afterwards he's acknowledged that it is not working properly; so describe him it breaks down more and more and if he doesn't want a total replacement cost, he should get someone within to fix it. Once that person arrives they may utter it has to be replaced and hopefully your problem will jump away.

I always despicable to rent....
Answers:    Foobix is right except you cannot withold rent, if you have not made any complaints to the innkeeper and you just stop paying he will draw from an eviction order against you. Do what you should own done in the first place, ring him and describe him you want a corgi registered engineer out to do a sanctuary check and report, tell him what have happened next to the boiler, and why, if he doesn't respond quickly, ring any the health and sanctuary office, or check out http://www.trustcorgi.com
