Possibility of removing ripened staircase from a rehabbed house? I know this may be hard to answer minus seeing the structure,...
I know this may be hard to answer minus seeing the structure, but: my wife and I are considering the purchase of an old house to be exact a rahabbed 2-family flat, converted into a single family. Because of the two people style of late 1800's / hasty 1900's brick houses, there is a second staircase that really isn't needed presently that it is a single family home. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove those stairs, and expand the rooms subsequent to them to take benefit of that space? Please only serious answers. I don't requirement anyone to tell me to step ask a structural engineer, or other professional (no duh) as I would noticeably do that if I really made a decision on this, but I want someone that may own experience with this sort of entry to let me know as a preliminary guess. Thanks
