Portable gas grill? Can someone tell me if this is commonplace for a gas grill...

Can someone tell me if this is commonplace for a gas grill to shoot out flame on the little hole between the tank and the burner from time to time? please click on the connection below to see the image where on earth i circled in red. that's that hole and when i use the grill, the flame shoots out on that hole from time to time. if it's not commonplace, what is the purpose for that hole?

Answers:    Not everyday and dangerous. This happen to me and I thought the whole entry was going to explode. I took it apart and cleaned out adjectives the little holes where the flame is supposed to come out and and made sure nil else was plugged up. I put it spinal column together and it's working fine now.
