What would cause a hose heater over flow spout to drip, i replaced it last weekend and its leak aging, is there supost be some discharge?
Answers:    that is not an overflow tap but a safety spigot.it releases water and pressure if your hose down heater get to hot and or pressurized. the only reason i know of that it would drip is because your water furnace is building up pressure but just plenty to make it drip or your tap stem isn't seated proper. if its the first reason i would hold it checked out by a professional as over time the heater could explode. if it is because the stem isn't seated proper, after just unfold the valve and consequently re close it. try it once or twice and see what happens.
It should not bleed unless the water pressure is beyond the rating on the ticket or the temperature. The temp. on them is usually 150 deg. but check the sticky label
