I manged to drill a 8mm hole into a hand mixing bowl waste pipe (not adjectives the way through) - the pipe is within plaster. - I knocked out some plaster & full up the drill hole with silicon - will this 'fix' do ? - (bare contained by mind its a hand basin)
Answers:    Get a flexible rubber repair coupling duplicate diameter as the pipe you drilled the hole in. This coupling should own two band type radiator clamps on it. Purchase an alternative clamp identical to the ones on the repair clamp. Remove clamps receive a knife cut coupling length sage, place coupling over hole, install clamps on each shutting down, install extra clamp over spot where 8mm hole is. To use silicone to repair pipe the pipe must be verbs and corrosion free. If you ever use a liquid drain cleaner or snake down drain to unclog it could displace silicone and escape. If not it will leak over time on its own. See pattern site below for coupling identification. Have repaired several drain pipes within homes using this method and it works. Next best is cut out old and replace but that should not be requisite. Good Luck.
If the pipe was dry when the silicone be applied it will probably work. The better way to do it would own been to use an epoxy putty that comes contained by two parts you mix by hand. This stuff works great. If it leak clean it bad and use the putty.
