Plumbing bang type rumpus? Occassionaally I hear a loud noise shortly after flushing my toilet....

Occassionaally I hear a loud noise shortly after flushing my toilet. The nouns is a few minutes after I flush (and it doesnt always happen), the reverberation is loud and seems to be coming from the vault (but I'm not too sure where it is coming from), it sounds almost approaching a loud machine, any concept on how to resolve this/what is causing this problem?
Thanks!!
Answers:    I would bet big bucks that it's something loose contained by the toilet fill spigot.

You might consider replacing it with a Fluidmaster 400A - a exceedingly good cram valve and not too difficult to install.
ok ...this is an jammy one. the sound you're audible range is the pipes directly blow your bathroom.your toilet float inside the tank is close to a faucet and as it fills up it rises up and shuts the flow stale via a valve. the nouns that you hear is the cold water strip that supplies the toilet(in the basement below the bathroom).next time you flush the toilet shift downstairs under the bathroom and listen for wet running, the water chain will also feel cold to the touch and you may in actuality feel wet running through it. now linger until the toilet stops running. at that moment watch the wet line, it may jiggle around a bit and be hitting another waterline or some other be reluctant nearby. it may enjoy been strapped down at one time and have come loose. this is the simplest explanation, and as a pro i have witnessed this several times. other explainations may be that you need an antisiphon float stopcock foryour toilet , or water tack hammer which is usually a plumbers job
