but after shutting water sour it appears to be pretty corroded where sea line enter into tank. Plumbed near pvc with special fitting to cistern. Is the tank doomed to failure? Or is the fitting bad? Thought it unconventional for fitting to start leaking after 12 years.
Answers: There should be a league right there i.e. called a dialectic coalition. It seperates the copper from the iron pipe due to the corrosive reaction they hold when they meet next to direct contact. somtimes the seals turn bad. I would remove the nipple from the top of the container, it should be connected directly to the tank. if the threading is corroded on the cistern then a apt chance it is shot. if it is not consequently just replace the nipple, the dialectic confederation, and the copper that connectes to that. if you have no impression what im talking more or less.. call a plumber.
