Pipe rattle pandemonium after dampen shutoff? Does anyone know the best way to repair drumming within the pipes...

Does anyone know the best way to repair drumming within the pipes when the water is shut past its sell-by date? Is there a method to determine which pipes are rattling? Are in attendance clamps you can push through the wall if so? Or what are some ways to fix this? The house is a split level next to forced hot water grill. sometimes even the toilet will cause the hullabaloo a bit after flushing.

Thank you
Answers:    The technical residence for this problem is actually 'Water Hammer'.

As copious others have stated, it is cause by air getting caught within your water pipes. I'm not sure where on earth you are located (as such I am unsure if you have a stopcock on your footpath etc.), but one relatively simple road of solving this problem is to turn on the tap furthest away from the foremost water stripe coming into the house (and leave running - for best results, this should be done at full-blast). Go to the stopcock / river meter / external tap fitting on the footpath and turn this stale. Go and check on the tap that have water blasting out of it, and loaf until there is no sea coming out of it. Go back to the footpath and turn the hit on again, and then turn and turn the tap that you have left on sour.

This should solve it, but if it does not, then you may want to consider getting a licensed plumber surrounded by.

Hope that helps!
I would love to know the answer to this. I hold the same problem!
