Is it OK to saw through one of those indoors to insert a cat door, or should that be done outside? Are nearby any harmful chemicals that might be potentially released by sawing through such a door?
Answers: Do it outside. The door might efficiently contain some kind of foam product. If not dicey, it will certainly be messy, and it's also much easier to cut a hole surrounded by the door if it's lying vertically on sawhorses.
you can cut through that inside... u can see it isnt a hollow door... only entry taht will be realesed is saw dust and a drop sheet wuld prevent the mess... carpenters do it all the time
