My strimmer starts ok, but conks out 10 - 15 seconds afterwards.
The sparkplug looks raining to me.
I have tried totalling petrol to the mixture because i suspected it was too slimy, but it made no difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Answers: The problem is most potential the carburetor. They use diaphrams and one is the fuel pump. Check the filter first. It is in the gas reservoir on the end of one of the fuel hoses. You can form a hook out of a piece of wire and fish it out of the cistern. Make sure it is clean. If it is, you can try to adjust the carburetor if it have adjusting screw. There will be two of them. Small screws beside springs. Turn them out about a 1/4 turn and try it.
If that doesn't minister to, rebuild the carburetor. You can find a rebuild gear at a small engine repair shop and it is not to hard a undertaking.
I wouldnt be messing about near the petrol / oil mix too much as this could injure the engine. Check your manual and find out correct mix, as a rule 40:1 or 50:1.
