Oven Problems...Please Help? I was trying to boil something in my oven, so I...
I was trying to boil something in my oven, so I turned it on and set the temp. I wait for it to heat up since the 'on' pale was on, and it worked early today. When I opened it up, however, I notice that I couldn't hear it turning on and that it wasn't heating up. I hold a gas-powered Whirlpool oven that I have no model how to fix, but before I hire someone to look at it, I be wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to check or what may be wrong.
Answers: First stale, Whirlpool hasn't made gas ranges with standing pilot flames within about 15 years. Pretty much everything manufactured since consequently by Whirlpool and everyone else, has an electronic ignition system that uses a small arcing electrode for the top burners and glo igniters made of a earthen material for the ovens. If your oven isn't heat, that will be the problem. These igniters must heat to a persuaded temp. to allow a certain electrical flow to the gas sanctuary valve practical the bottom rear of the part, below the oven. Once the temp. is reached and the sanctuary valve receive the proper voltage, it opens and allows gas to escape into the burner tube. It ignite as soon as it hits the glowing thing. If the element breaks completely near will be no glo at all, if it's newly cracked there will be a enormously brite spot at the point of the crack. Either way it requirements to be replaced. This is not accessed thru the put a bet on of the range, but a bit from inside the oven, or under the oven surrounded by the broiler area. They're not unforced to replace, but then they're not rocket science any. If you or hubby are moderately handy with tools, you can bid an appliance parts supply store with the formulate and model of your range and they can supply a exotic igniter. They usually run between $50 - $75.
Sounds like pilot is out; the gas company will pallid it for you, so call them.
