Air quit working i checked the outside unit and it was froze adjectives pipes insides and the pipes leading from the unit to the house be froze. Looked at the coil inside the house and it is frozen also. I have a split system unit and be wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Turn it off and be off it off over night. Tomorrow, rinse the coils both inside and out and change the air filter. Make sure both of the fan are turning and moving plenty of air. Try it again. There is a good hit and miss it will just freeze up again. If it does it probably has a low freon charge. Call a profession at this point-it will be cheaper surrounded by the long run. after it thaws you can turn it back on purely to keep you through tonight
This is going to require service. It is probably low on freon. Low pressure on the low pressure side of the compressor will cause freezing. Have you have it worked on recently? If moisture is in the lines, mixed next to the oil and freon, it can tum acidic and devour the system from the inside out.
If you're lucky, it will be an easy fix.
