I live in an apartment building (just moved in) and around the same time of evening twice this week our toilet have filled up with river with suds in it. Both times we be eating dinner and started hearing glugging sounds coming from the bathroom. I enjoy to flush it twice for it to go away. Is this a major problem? Why is this up? Is it worth calling maintenance over? (We were not only just doing anything with water when this happened). Thanks for your answers!

We had a similar problem last year ( we live contained by a single family home) We also had sudsy dampen in the toilet,and dirty gross water contained by the bottom of the shower( that bathroom is in the basement). I wonder if your apartment is in the underground store or first floor. Tell your landlord your problem ,I think he wants to call a sewer company to rod out the main flash ( from the house to the street) Doing laundry uses so much water, and your stuffed up line can't fiddle with it and that is why it is backing up . Answers:    Definitely telephone maintenance, it could become bigger problem, you could come home one day and your apartment could be flooded near sewer.
