The cold water is pay for on but the hot is trickling very slowly - if I check out of it running will it help? Any other solutions?

You can try leave it running, its worth a try, i wouldnt individually as water costs abundantly of money to be running down the drain, check for leaks, as the hose as expanded you may find the incresed pressure from keeping the tap running can burst pipes, which will organize into never pressure loss
i dont know which pipes your talking roughly speaking, but if its in the kitchen and theres a cabinet below the sink, go off the cabinets sympathetic over night. thats what we do
