Water is leaking contained by at windows located contained by two rooms of the 3rd and 4th floor units. It does appear that at hand are cracks in the mortar and hose had seep into the rear stairway, which we have repaired last summer. 1. Does the builder put any protection between the cinderblocks and the outside wall of the owners unit to prevent this type of leakage? 2. What nature of maintenance can/should be perform on this type of (cinderblock) contruction material? 3. Does the builder hold any obligation to inform the (unsuspecting) tentative owners of this known, awaiting and destructive situation, when using this type of (cinderblock) material?
Answers: Window flashing may not own been installed properly or is non-existent. Be sure adjectives contacting points of the windows near the exterior are caulked. Fill any noticeable cracks, although I significantly doubt water is migrating through the block wall itself.
