house is covered with cedar shakes , previousely they put in the picture me painted with a mixture of linseed grease & a coloring agent. i already purchased the exterior sears weatherbeater latex paint. will this hold will it strip off do i use some special primer first , any assist appreciated.

put down two coats of "Kilz" primer before drawing. Use the type for oil floor paint first, then the latex paint. If you don't treat the wood, the weatherbeater will skin in a few years. The primer will tender you a longer life expectancy.
Use really virtuous primer or you'll have to use thumb tack to hold the Weatherbeater onto the house.
