Answers:    Get a plumber!!! The opening you are trying to take on is thorny, even for the pro's. Yes you need to hold the vent for the toilet, or the water won't flow right. The floor drain for most toilets will be 12 inches from the wall to the bolts. But if you run into a floor joist, you will enjoy to move the drain. This project would be a one or two day project for populace who know what they are doing. Someone with no experience, it could lift you a week or more. The vent for the toilet has to to out the roof, so you would also stipulation to do roofing project. Not to mention you will have to cut into existing sewer stack to tie into for fresh toilet. It may be a little expensive but I suggest you hold a pro do it.
My suggestion is to buy a book from home depot on plumbing. If you have principal as these, you will run into a lot more.
